- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying
- ½ cup hot honey (or regular honey with hot sauce mixed in)
Instructions
- First, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 10–15 minutes.
- While the shrimp is marinating, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the shrimp from buttermilk and dredge them in the seasoned flour.
- Fry the shrimp in hot oil for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, toss the hot, crispy shrimp in the hot honey until well coated.

Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying to achieve the ultimate crispiness. This dish is best enjoyed fresh!
